Job Description

Job DescriptionPosition Summary:As the Rental Fleet and Repair Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing our rental fleet and repair operations across Canada. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing large-scale fleet and repair operations.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fleet Procurement
    • Monitor new deliveries, oversee pre-delivery inspections (PDI) with dealers or on site, and coordinate deliveries to Sixt branches in Vancouver, Toronto, and future locations in Calgary and Montreal
    • Assist in the registration, platting, and licensing of fleet vehicles, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive fleet management strategies to ensure optimal performance, cost efficiency, and compliance with industry regulations.
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to assess and select appropriate vehicles and equipment for the fleet.
    • Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  2. Fleet Remarketing
  • Identify and acquire new Auction relationships/partners that help support and drive our disposal needs.This may also require integration though an API feed.
  • Collaborate with the direct dealer sales team to develop strategic concepts, pricing, and identify opportunities to increase volume in existing and future remarketing partners.
  • Work with remarketing partners to develop a mutually beneficial plan to drive the growth in sales with the goal of increasing sales and elevating prices through this channel.
  • Work with Auctions to enhance lane positioning and times, increase CR scores to represent our premium brand, while increasing on-going dealer participation.
  • Work and collaborate with OEM partners, both open and closed sales to establish presence and supplement inventory needed to enhance dealer interaction.
  • Establish and achieve performance targets as set by the company by regularly engaging with clients (in person and virtually) and by collaborating with operations and field Remarketing to establish consistency throughout the local markets.
  • Knowledge of regional pricing process for all disposal channels to maximize revenue generation and minimize holding cost.
  1. Repair Operations:
    • Manage and coordinate repair operations for the entire Canadian fleet, ensuring timely and cost-effective maintenance and repairs.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with repair service providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
    • Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of vehicles and equipment.
  1. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Stay informed about and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards related to fleet operations and repair activities.
    • Implement and update policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive knowledge of the automotive and auction industry (various sectors).
  • Extensive knowledge of the remarketing industry (various sectors).
  • Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with auction clients, collaborate with internal team members, and external partners at various levels within the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and in a remote environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of safety awareness and take necessary safety precautions.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams.
