Job Description

Imagine a world where everyone has equitable access to higher education, enabled by admission processes that give applicants a chance to show their full potential, share lived experiences and cultural influences, demonstrate soft skills, and highlight academic achievements.Picture higher education programs equipped with software that streamlines complex operations and delivers performance analytics and insights that can increase student and program success. At Acuity Insights, that’s the world we are building.Right now, we do it with our admissions assessment products (Casperamp; Duet), program management products (One45amp; MSPE Builder), and dataamp; insights products (Analytics). These products help schools select, nurture and graduate future doctors, nurses, teachers, engineers, business leaders, and other professionals who reflect the diversity of our communities and bring durable skills like empathy, integrity, resiliency, and professionalism into the workforce.Acuity Insights is a purpose-driven EdTech company with a vision to create a world powered by everyone’s full potential. Our roots are firmly planted in medical and healthcare education, but we are at a new stage of growth: we have branched out to more programs in higher education. We are exploring other possibilities to expand our impact on the world. You now have a chance to be part of our company’s scaling journey when you join our team as a Learningamp; Development Specialist, stepping in to support an existing revenue enablement function and expanding learning and development across Acuity Insights. The opportunity is best suited to an L amp;D professional experienced in building agile e-learning and training programsamp; content in a dynamic and scaling tech environment. The Learningamp; Development Specialist position is a remote-first full-time individual contributor role based in Canada and reports to Carmel Mikol (Manager, Learningamp; Enablement). Opportunityamp; ImpactAs a Learningamp; Development Specialist at Acuity Insights, you’ll have a vital role in helping grow our Enablement function, increasing our capacity and ability to respond to short-term business needs and long-term opportunities. Your work will equip and support our teams, help our company scale, and contribute to our social mission of creating a world where everyone feels empowered to reach their full potential. You’ll help us navigate and tackle a significant challenge for our scaling, ambitious company and help find solutions to challenges like:

  • How do we empower our teams to feel supported and successful and nurture their skills and interests while learning to be trusted advisors to our partners
  • How do we make highly technical and research-based information digestible and easy to tell as a good story
  • How do we onboard new team members efficiently and effectively, even when the onboarding ramp is expected to be time-intensive
You’ll get to leverage your learning and development acumen, revenue enablement skills, and a good understanding of the latest learning methodologies and human-centred learning techniques. As our first Learningamp; Development Specialist, you will own e-learning and virtual course development and get to build new content and learning programs for our Program Experience product line (One45, MSPE Builder and Analytics) from scratch. Your work will enable faster and more effective implementations, higher customer and employee retention, and better training for new employees, reducing the number of hours current team members spend on training. In partnership with the Manager of Learningamp; Enablement (Carmel), you will also support a portfolio of existing revenue enablement programming, for example, helping develop weekly sales and customer success enablement sessions, building e-learning for product certifications and selling skills, and managing the day-to-day of the revenue team’s content management system. You won’t need to spend hours crafting out-of-date e-learning or managing a clunky LMS – instead, you’ll create highly adaptive micro-learning using new authoring tools and lite LMS functionality. You’ll engage with our teams using a mixture of in-person (virtual) sessions, scenario-based learning, peer learning, and practice sessions. You will create e-learning and self-directed learning materials, and you’ll think way outside the box. You get to be creative and won’t need to adhere to restrictive learning management systems or course design software. You’ll collaborate with subject matter experts from across the organization, including implementation specialists, Product Marketing, Customer Success and Sales teams, to produce and share new content and help bridge “the field” and other functions. You’ll show a deep commitment to empowering individuals to feel supported while understanding how the learning you create aligns with business goals and company targets. On a typical day, you’ll work on developing content for a self-directed course, managing the day-to-day on our CMS/LMS and meeting with a cross-functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) to check in on a new piece of content that you’ll be enabling customer-facing teams on soon. You may help deliver a virtual training session, run some reports from our LMS/CMS, and deliver them to managers for review. In this role, you get to:
  • Design and implement hybrid learning materials in a remote working environment, using a variety of content formats to accommodate diverse learning needs (for example, e-learning, workshops, role-play/live practice, and curated learning content)
  • Interact with various leaders, SMEs, and learners and enable different teams, from customer-facing to internal, while creating or maintaining a diverse learning portfolio.
  • Update, upgrade, and customize existing materials to improve digestibility, learnability, and engagement rates and create new learning from scratch.
  • Use creativity and ingenuity to lean into hybrid learning methodologies and enablement practices, favouring active learning, live practice, and role-play scenarios over formalized e-learning and taking a more personalized and human-centric approach to learning design.
  • Adopt and train new tech stack, helping teams optimize their time and efforts, taking the mystery out of using new tools.
  • Perform regular content management and maintenance activities in an LMS/CMS and coordinate contributing teams to complete required tasks related to content management.
  • Prepare regular reports to help leaders track the progress of content and learning materials and make data-informed decisions about areas for improvement.
How your impact and performance is seen, evaluated and measuredYour success is measured on two key metrics: learning engagement and the number of courses built and launched. You’ll know you are meeting expectations and thriving when:
  • The learning experiences you build lead to consistently high sign-ups, course completions, scores and positive quantitative and qualitative feedback on surveys.
  • You can show how your work has contributed to the Learningamp; Enablement team achieving quarterly goals and impacting business outcomes.
  • Peers, collaborators, and leaders you support and collaborate with across Acuity Insights feel and recognize the impact of your work.
To qualify and thrive in the role, you:
  • Have seen what success looks like on a learningamp; development or revenue enablement team as an individual contributor or manager in a dynamic tech environment.
  • Bring experience developing and facilitating e-learning courses and live virtual training programs on a wide variety of topics, from basic selling and customer conversation skills to technical or research-based knowledge.
  • Are formally trained in adult learning methodology, holding a degree or Masters in Education or obtained a certificate in adult learning, teaching or related field.
  • Have independently managed development projects from end-to-end, collaborating and building relationships cross-functionally with relevant groups, leaders, and SMEs to gather and review learning.
  • Are experienced as an admin in a CMS and/or LMS like Highspot, Docebo, Workday, Talent LMS or Articulate 360.
  • Have helped set up and used a system for gathering, tracking and reporting on relevant metrics, like learning engagement data from an LMS.
  • Like to build and think outside the box with an awareness of and attention to diverse thinking and learning needs, including accessibility standards.
  • Continuously seek to elevate your practice, learn about new tools and methodologies and experiment with more efficient technologies.
  • Are driven by your genuine interest in helping others learn, grow, and succeed in their professions.
It also is helpful if you:
  • Bring professional experiences outside a traditional learningamp; development function, like revenue or sales enablement.
  • Have had a chance to build technical or platform/product training with customer enablement.
  • Are trained in assessments for adult learning programs.
To thrive at Acuity Insights, you are:
  • Caring toward people. You show up, take time to listen and understand, encourage and support, and don’t shy away from providing feedback and sharing knowledge that inspires professional growth in others.
  • Curious by nature and open to possibilities. You like asking questions, listening, exploring, experimenting, and learning.
  • Driven to problem-solve independently and with collaborators, seek to continuously improve your skills, methods, and practices.
  • Adaptableamp; resilient with a preference for scaleup-like work environments where the strategic destination is defined but how you get there can change.
  • A self-starter at your best when you manage your work, time, and priorities independently and are empowered to explore ways to contribute and create value, initiate and take ownership of projects that positively influence change.
  • An effective cross-functional collaborator who proactively communicates with colleagues and seeks and respects their input and perspectives.
  • Self-aware and reflective, with an understanding of who you are, what lights you up, and what your strengths and gaps are. You recognize and own your mistakes and invite feedback that helps you grow.
  • Purpose-oriented and motivated by meaningful work that has a greater social impact.
Other personal attributes we highly value: authenticity, compassionamp; empathy, humility, team-centricity, positivity, and action-orientation.
