Job Description

Seeking an Immediate Project Accountant (6-Month Contract, Hybrid in Toronto)Our client, a renowned design consultancy, is on the lookout for a Project Accountant for a 6 month contract. This role is a perfect fit for professionals who thrive in a dynamic, creative environment and are ready to jump into a contract role with immediate effect.Location: Downtown Toronto (Hybrid - 4 days on-site, 1 day remote)Contract Duration: 6 months, with the potential for extensionYour New Role:As a Project Accountant, you will be the financial backbone of our project teams, ensuring meticulous financial tracking and reporting. Your analytical prowess and detail-oriented approach will be crucial in maintaining the financial health of our diverse portfolio of projects.Responsibilities:

  • Project Financial Oversight: Oversee monthly client invoicing aligned with contractual agreements, manage financial reports, and ensure accurate project billing.
  • Operational Excellence: Validate the proper use of expense and labor codes, and oversee the accuracy of financial entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborative Review: Work in tandem with support staff to ensure all financial documentation, including purchase orders and change orders, is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Financial Reporting: Contribute to the end-of-month financial closing process with precision and punctuality.
What You #39;ll Bring:
  • A diploma in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A keen eye for detail and robust analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, with a preference for candidates experienced in Unanet or Deltek.
  • Prior experience within the architectural or engineering sector is essential.
  • A clear criminal record is a prerequisite.
