We commit to a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace, and offer a rewarding career as a member of our stellar team.Performs the functions of Registered Practical Nurse in compliance with the standards of practice for Registered Practical Nurse developed by the College of Nurses, and provides high quality nursing service that reflects the organization #39;s resident centred approach, vision and policies.As a Unit Nurse, the Registered Practical Nurse is responsible for day to day supervision of unregulated staff and students in the unit and provide direct resident care with interdisciplinary team members as well as communications with families.Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.Specialization in Gerontology an asset.Previous experience in a long term care setting Current CPR CertificateGood leadership skillsProven clinical experience with a resident-centred care focus, from assessment, to education and documentation.Demonstrated commitment to quality care and safety.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgement in assessing and prioritizing situations at hand, and multi-tasking different priorities.Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbally and in writing) and presentation skills to internal and external clients/residentsStrong problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional and interdisciplinary teamAbility to mentor and/or support colleagues and studentsComputer literacy.Experience with RAI-MDS an assetAbility to work shifts (days, evenings, nights and short shifts.May be required to work weekly weekend work).Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset; understanding of Japanese an assetWorking Conditions:Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bendingExposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contactInterested applicants may apply by January 13, 2024 quoting reference number REF162ZOur people are our greatest strength and the core of our success.
