We #39;re a diverse and dynamic team seeking the best and brightest talent to help us achieve our company goals, and to continue to build on our award-winning culture.About the role:We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Senior Credit Risk Specialist to join our Risk Management Department. Your responsibilities in this role will include assessing new and active merchant partners in Canada on Financeit partner onboarding and risk monitoring policies, ensuring credit and fraud related risks are minimized and policies and controls are adhered to. You will have a proven track record as an individual with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment.What you #39;ll do:

  • Assess all new potential merchant partners within the Canadian market and review company and business owner/director information to assess partner #39;s credit quality and performance as per Financeit onboarding guidelines.
  • Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of existing partner-merchant #39;s behaviour and adherence to Financeit #39;s processes as well as credit quality and performance, including assessing for potential fraud, AML risks and overall compliance with the parameters of Financeit #39;s consumer lending program.
  • Strong credit evaluation and analytical skills, including familiarity with applicable commercial and personal credit bureau reports, financial statement analysis and overall financial performance assessment.
  • Conduct post-funding borrower satisfaction calls to assess a partner-merchant #39;s adherence to Financeit #39;s lending program requirements and compliance with its supporting processes.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports related to the merchant network, as assigned to assess trends and/or perform risk indicator analyses that would signal general concentrations of risk or high-risk behavior patterns with potential large exposure for specific merchants.
  • Assess existing processes on an ongoing basis, make recommendations for improvement and assist with their implementation.
  • Review escalations from Junior team members, Operations and Sales for approval, where authorized or to provide a recommendation to management.
  • Assist Junior team members by reviewing their work for accuracy and thoroughness as well as aiding in the form of training on risk tools, processes, and methodology.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience working in indirect personal loan finance or similar.
  • Strong credit evaluation and analytical skills, including familiarity with both commercial and consumer credit bureau report analysis.
  • Intermediate level of understanding of financial statement and cash flow analysis including the calculation of key financial ratios.
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in business or other related discipline.
  • Strong planning, organizing and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities with deadlines.
  • Fluency in French preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a self-directed, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and G Suite.
