The incumbent is responsible for identifying learning priorities, creating effective learning environments, and designing a range of learning interventions to support employee performance, growth, and leadership development across METRO’s Ontario Division. The incumbent will also partner with the Training and Organizational Development team in both Ontario and Quebec as well as with client business units across stores, corporate offices, distribution centres, and pharmacies to provide expert advice and learning and development services.Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assess employee training, learning, and performance needs through a variety of social research and needs analysis methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and job-task observations.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate innovative and end-to-end learning programs to meet diverse employee and business needs.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across the business to create learning materials and experiences to promote employee success.
  • Act as an expert advisor to other business groups, providing consulting support, guidance, and the implementation of best practices across their training and development initiatives.
  • Deliver training sessions and provide coaching support both in-person and virtually for employee groups across Ontario.
  • Support organizational development through the creation or enhancement of existing programs, which may include onboarding, manager development, employee engagement, diversityamp; inclusion, mental healthamp; wellness, and more.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business groups as well as with the Ontario and Quebec Trainingamp; Organizational teams to support broad departmental initiatives and programs, as required.
  • Monitor and evaluate training and development programs to ensure they meet objectives and achieve an impact on employee learning, skills development, and performance.
  • Assist eLearning design and development, particularly with the digitization of static learning materials, job aids, and training.
  • Support the management of external vendor and supplier relationships, contracts, and quality control of products and services.
  • Support the planning and coordination of individual and multi-session training initiatives including events coordination, enrolment, on-site facility logistics, and reporting, as required.
  • Some travel is required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma with a specialty in Education, Organizational Development or Leadership, Human Resource Development, or relevant education and experience.
  • A master #39;s degree in a related discipline is an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning programs, with excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using eLearning authoring tools (Articulate360, Camtasia).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
  • Innovative and confident working with new technologies, platforms, and software.
  • Highly collaborative, self-directed, and customer focused.
  • Ability to support and lead organizational change.
  • Retail, corporate L amp;D, or talent management experience an asset.
  • Experience with coaching or consulting an asset.
  • Bilingual French preferred; other languages an asset
