Reporting to the Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is a hands-on role, preparing workloads and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness. Responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of the interior and exterior of the guest rooms, common areas and corridors. Candidate must be capable of communicating in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing) with clients, co-workers and management. Be able to operate washers, dryers, vacuum, floor polishers and other cleaning electronic and non-electronic equipment and be physically fit. Rotations are 14 on / 7 off and average 10 hours per day. Pay scale is based on experience.Responsibilities and Essential Duties: · Accountable for the housekeeping department workloads and distribution of janitorial duties· Ensures the highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures· Liaises with Front Office and Maintenance departments in relating tasks such as room status, VIP’s and room maintenance work requests.· Inspects and passes rooms in a timely, efficient manner, updates the code status for the Front Office.· Clean guest rooms on a daily basis· Assists with administration including: inventory control, closing discrepancy report, daily arrival list.· Conducts daily walk through the lodge. Notes deficiencies, follows up as required.· Ensures arrivals are cleaned and checked on a daily basis.· Secures keys in accordance with management policy.· Manages and documents all performance concerns in accordance with management policies.· Assists with training new associates according to standard.· Checks rooms to ensure Quality Standards are consistently met.· Ensures all associates are working safely on the floors.· Assists with monthly cleaning programs and lost/found items with policies, standards and procedures.· Participates in communication meetings with housekeeping team.· Participates as part of the Health & Safety Committee for the property· Reports all concerns related to Maintenance, Health & Safety, Security or Suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound) immediately.· Adheres to all established standards, including Hygiene/Grooming, Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Guest Interactions.· Other projects/duties as assigned.Job Specifications and Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 1-2 years experience in housekeeping. Previous supervisory experience is an asset. Able to work well independently with little supervision.
