Job Description

ke Métis Nation, you can join a team of passionate and committed individuals working towards creating a sustainable future for the Nation and its citizens.The Office Administrator Summer Student (OASS) reports to the Finance Lead and plays an integral role in both internal and external communication development and implementation, as well as marketing and administrative activities. The OASS supports the advancement of Willow Lake Métis Nations established communication and marketing plans through the creation of innovative internal and external communications.In addition to communication and marketing responsibilities, the successful candidate will utilize Quickbooks to manage accounts payable and receivable. While no accounting skills are required, exceptional communication, social media, organizational, and multitasking skills are essential for this role.Core Responsibilities

  • Provide communications assistance to WLMN team including liaising with suppliers and external communications company.
  • Assist with the preparation and creation of high-level presentations, brochures and other marketing materials for feature at events and on social media and websites.
  • Assist with the preparation of content, layout and release of electronic communications to stakeholders such as brochures, mass mailings, e-newsletters, event listings, media/public announcements, social media posts and other communication elements.
  • Assists and/or coordinates projects, special events and activities as required
  • Utilize Quickbooks to complete Accounts Payables and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Provide reception support which includes welcoming guests and greeting people who visit the office. Coordinate front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence and redirecting phone calls.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of education at the College or University Level with preference given to applicants whose education is in the area of business, marketing, accounting or another relevant field of study.
  • Demonstrated communication and writing skills
  • Experience using various social media platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and to meet deadlines successfully under pressure
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Flexible (as some events will take place on evenings, weekends, or holidays).
