Job Description

NXP’s Radio Products Solutions (RPS) provides a full portfolio of innovative RF power solutions that combine best-in-class components, reference designs, support and manufacturing. NXP’s Radio Products business is the number one supplier of RF power transistors and Integrated Power Solutions for cellular infrastructure, supporting all transmission standards. Our RF power transistor technology is also used in broadcast, medical, mobile radio, military, aviation, cooking and industrial markets.NXP RF Integrated Products Solution R&D design team is responsible for creating leading power amplifier and front end module solutions for cellular base station applications primarily for mMIMO and 5G markets.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Position is for hands on management of small team of RF designers responsible for delivering advanced and leading integrated power module solutions for 5G mMIMO market.
  • Smart Front end Modules include supporting/supervision functionalities using SiGe BiCMOS and/or SOI ICs.
  • Manager is expected to work intimately with other team members from device, package, product, project, modeling, application and manufacturing personnel for successful and timely product launch.
Qualifications:
  • Candidate will need to hold a minimum of a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, MS or PhD is preferred
  • Min of 12 years of RF experience in design and development of innovative RFIC and smart module products
  • Must have a strong background on Microwave and RF engineering, emphasis on several of the following areas is highly desirable:
  • Hands-on experience with board level tuning and optimization of matching networks.
  • Understanding of Integrated PA design including active and passive components and multi-stage matching for optimum linearity and efficiency.
  • Understanding of Doherty matching techniques for wide band applications.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and generate IP as needed.
  • High level of experience and understanding of power amplifier, circuit linearization and high-efficiency design techniques.
  • Familiarity with digital distortion linearization techniques
  • Microwave measurement techniques (S-parameters, loadpull setups, VNA calibration techniques, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc).
  • Understanding of advanced RF/microwave measurement techniques including bench calibration techniques and related troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge with Agilents Advanced Design System (ADS) , Ansofts High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and planar electromagnetic solvers (Sonnets Em and/or Agilents Momentum)
  • Understanding of 5G wireless communication systems and their latest trends in the industry.
  • Solid understanding concerning circuit instability and strategies to resolve them.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in teams.
  • Visionary, willing to take calculated risks and maintain competitive edge.
  • Team leader with interpersonal skills.
