Job Description

  • Area focal point for providing strategic direction for technicians to achieve performance needed in support of the factory goals in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People development.
  • Area sustaining – shift coverage for maintenance issues providing manufacturing tool capacity as needed, coordinate interface with engineering support as needed.
  • Responsible for coaching team through maintenance transformation, to increase scheduled maintenance success, and elimination of root cause problems impacting tool availability.
  • Works to mentor and coach the NXP Way methodology.
  • Manufacturing metrics ownership (avail, utilization, holds, cycle time, cost, scrap, etc.)
  • Area priority ownership and communication.
  • Area escalations (parts, Hard Down Action Plan execution, mercury lots, engineering support).
  • Training matrix ownership (cross-training).
  • Operations Supervisor Back up
Key Challenges:
  • Able to analyze systematic problems, identify solutions and deploy across the area.
  • Able to work in a high volume manufacturing environment, where multi-tasking is regularly required.
  • Ability to anticipate problems.
  • The desired candidate should have a solid understanding of SPC, 5s, FDC systems, and demonstrate problem solving skills.
  • The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied.
  • The desired candidate will be required to complete documentation and train others.

  • The position requires the ability to interface with other internal and external groups to ensure all safety, performance, and reliability requirements are satisfied.
  • The ability to problem solve within a diverse cross-functional team, to achieve specific objectives, related to area performance.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years experience in a wafer fab manufacturing environment. Must have a strong background in semiconductor equipment maintenance.
  • Education or experience related to electromechanical.
  • BS or equivalent in related field is a preference but not required.
  • Strong track record of tactical decision-making, and ability to quickly disseminate and execute plans across an organization.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as a proven ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Ability to deal with multiple issues and shifting priorities.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Fundamentals and Total Quality Culture
  • Experience with one or more of the following equipment types is required: AMAT, ASML, KLA, ASM, Plasmatherm
