As the Business Analyst, Plant Services (Hybrid), you will be supporting the Director, Facilities Maintenance & Operations Managers and Project Managers with preparing and managing their operating and capital budgets. You will also be coordinating the planning, development and implementation of initiatives to improve the business process within the Facilities Maintenance & Operations team at FH.Are you ready to tackle this challengeBuild on your education and career experience as you:

  • Review and analyze Facilities Maintenance & Operations financial and costing information for operations and capital projects
  • Provide business advisory services and support day-to-day operations.
  • Provide advice, interpretation and resource support to Facilities Maintenance & Operations Managers in the use and application of costing, budgeting and performance reporting information.
  • Provide support to Facilities Maintenance & Operations team in the analysis and costing of new builds, program expansions and program changes
  • Utilize and provide support for Maximo computerized maintenance management system
  • Provide a periodic analysis of financial variances, activity measures and project cash flow tracking as part of the reporting package
Here is what we would like you to have:
  • A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA) and/or university degree in Commerce, Business, Finance or Health Administration.
  • Three years of recent, related experience in financial/management accounting or equivalent management or project administration in health care or public sector environment.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
This is a regular full-time position. We value diversity in the work force and aim to maintain an environment of Respect, Caring & Trust.Detailed Overview:Reporting to the Director Plant Services, the Business Analyst is responsible for providing financial and business advisory services to the Director, Plant Services Managers and Project Managers; reviews and analyses financial, statistical, and costing information, and assists Plant Services Managers to prepare and manage their operating and capital budgets; coordinates the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a variety of initiatives as set by the Director to improve business operations and processes within Plant Services; manages, interprets and evaluates key performance indicators for Plant Services which are used as a basis for best practices; oversees assigned project resources; monitors project plans; ensures that plans are aligned with best practices specified for use by the Director in support of the objectives of the portfolio. This position serves as system administrator for the Archibus building maintenance computer system.Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and analyzes Plant Services financial, statistical and costing information, and assesses operational performance in relation to budget and best practice; provides assessment results and recommendations on appropriate courses of action to Plant Services Director and/or Managers for the purpose of implementing corrections or improvements.
  • Works with and supports Plant Services Managers in the preparation and reporting of their operating and capital budgets; provides advice, interpretation and resource support to Plant Services Managers in the use and application of costing, budgeting and performance reporting information.
  • Provides support to Plant Services management in the analysis and costing of new programs and program changes.
  • Acts as a resource to Plant Services by preparing and presenting educational sessions and supporting material on budgeting and operating performance, including orientation sessions for new managers.
  • Provides orientation sessions and information to new Managers to the organization regarding financial reports and responsibility reporting.
  • Provides a periodic analysis of financial statement variances and activity measures as part of the monthly reporting package.
  • Manages, interprets and evaluates key performance indicators and a balanced scorecard for the different Plant Services Departments across the region; develops and monitors external benchmarks for each indicator.
  • Tracks and reports on the impact of improvement initiatives upon the performance indicators.
  • Performs the role of application systems coordinator for the Archibus computer system; performs management, report and menu configurations and administration of the system (e.g., user accounts, applciation rights, modifying content menus).
  • Coordinates and performs generation of reports from the Archibus system.
  • Address and resolve end-user questions or issues related to application usage, end-user training, operations or business processes; troubleshoot and resolve system application errors including responsibility to contact the vendor on all system application errors.
  • Responsible for writing and maintaining documentation of business processes associated with the Archibus building maintenance module.
  • Prepares and monitors budget allocation and resources for projects and ensures the efficient utilization of financial resources within assigned funding.
  • Assists the Director on a variety of initiatives required for transition from existing to new service models.
  • Prepares reports and writes procedures on work processes and operational systems; ensures reporting and monitoring requirements are met; responds to ad-hoc requests as required.
  • Provides training and education to plant managers about the effective use of various existing business systems and other resources within Fraser Health to enable the managers to do their work efficiently.
  • Assists in the system development and continuous improvement of existing plant services building and operations software and the processes that relate to its usage and implementation.
Qualifications: Education and ExperienceCPA or three years of recent, related experience in financial/management accounting or equivalent management or project administration in a health care environment.Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates the LEADS capabilities of Leads Self, Engages Others, Achieves Results, Develops Coalitions and supports Systems Transformation.Professional/Technical Capabilities:
