Job Description

If youre an energetic individual with good attention to detail, consider this opportunity at the Monteith Correctional Complex. In this role, you would maintain and administer the centralized storekeeping operation of the institution.What can I expect to do in this role

  • Oversee and participate in the day-to-day storekeeping operations
  • Check incoming goods, fill stock requisitions and orders as well as
  • Receive, record, store and distribute materials, products and equipment
  • Reconcile purchasing card statements, search vehicles
  • Provide a variety of delivery and offender discharge and escort services
  • Ensure Ministry vehicles are in safe operational condition and ready for use
  • Provide supervision to offenders helpers
  • Other duties, as assigned
How do I qualifyMandatory Requirement:
  • You have a valid class G Ontario drivers licence
  • You have a Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification OR able to obtain
Specialized Knowledge and Experience
  • You have in-depth knowledge of stock keeping, record keeping and inventory asset control practices and procedures
  • You have excellent knowledge of purchasing and procurement practices and procedures
  • You have experience operating vehicles, including knowledge of safe driving techniques
  • You have knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act and WHMIS
Communication and Supervisory Skills
  • You have effective group leadership and supervisory skills to supervise and instruct staff and inmate helpers
  • You have good communication and interpersonal skills
Other Skills
  • You have demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • You have mathematical skills and attention to detail in order to work with figures and maintain accurate records
  • You have computer skills for email communication and to order goods and services
