Here, you can: shape the future of insurance, win as a team, and grow with us.About the roleWe’re looking for a Financial Specialist to join our passionate team of finance professionals!As a Financial Specialist, you will support activities related to the Claims Finance function. You’ll be working alongside an inspiring and knowledgeable team of experts – the best industry has to offer – and together, you’ll be instrumental in supporting Intact’s growth objectives.About the teamThe claims finance team provides the claims operations with financial expertise. The team is responsible to coordinate claims budgeting process, provide guidance on regional claims budgets, track and forecast variances to the plan and participate in various efficiency and ad hoc initiatives such as being members of various claims steering committees.The team plays a central role for several operational teams in each region on various topics such as financial processes, information request from the claims systems, supporting third party partners, etc. It acts as a contact to the corporate finance teams regarding claims financial information.As a member of the claims finance team, you will:

  • Act as a finance business partner for your assigned Claims business units with interaction with claims regional leadership (Directors & VPs)
  • Prepare the monthly reporting package and variance analysis
  • Provide insights to the business unit leaders on their financial performance
  • Participate in the forecasting and budgeting of Claims, develop and improve forecasting models
  • Become a member of the Claims Project Management Office and provide support and tools in tracking and reporting of projects
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert within claims finance on external fees in Claims
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other Subject Matter Experts within claims finance and claims shared services
QualificationsWhat you bring to the table:
  • 5 years of relevant work experience
  • B. Comm.
  • CPA designation or M. Sc. in relevant field an asset
  • Excellent communicator – Bilingual an asset
  • Proactive and entrepreneurial
  • Experience in a complex business environment
  • Data-oriented, proficient in Excel
  • Knowledge of Hyperion, Power BI, VBA, SQL an asset
