Note that the position may be in the Canadian Branch of BNP Paribas or in one of its subsidiaries based in Montreal.The position at a glanceThis role is within Core Banking IT - Regulatory Controls IT team. This resource will be a key member of the AML IT team to lead, develop, and deliver multiple complex projects and services to Compliance, Control and Legal functions within BNP Paribas CIB. The focus will primarily be on the evolving Anti-Money Laundering Monitoring platforms (including various vendor products and regions).In detailPrincipal Duties :The scope of the engagement will include but not be limited to:

  • Work In partnership with Compliance users and various IT teams to lead, develop and implement various initiatives of the Compliance and AML functions.
  • Perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples)
  • Contribute to development/ Writing of PID, Business Requirements, and Functional & Technical Specifications document, Test plan, and Test Cases.
  • Contribute to defining of specifications for AML Monitoring models in Actimize application (SAM/ ERCM)
  • As a technical lead, work co-operatively with all the functional and project leads in designing the solution and taking ownership of developing and implementing the solution. Recommend alternative solutions, design, integrate, and implement the right enterprise solutions for Compliance
  • Work very closely with offshore development team and lead them for successfully developing, testing and implementing the solution.
  • Work with Compliance to identify appropriate Actimize models to cover various scenarios and validate existing setup.
  • Provide on-going support of the AML Monitoring application (Actimize SAM/ERCM).
  • Lead (technical lead) projects from start to implementation. Drive solution architecture, technical designs and security designs to support enterprise needs while thoroughly considering multiple systems impact.
  • Provides technical expertise in the examination and definition of objectives of existing or proposed systems and in the design of improved systems utilizing information technology
  • Ensures adherence to Bank and information systems policies and procedures, security measures and audit standards
  • Perform problem analysis, structured analysis, design and programming techniques
  • Work proactively to solve issues and problems
  • Document, effectively track and resolve issues in a timely manner during the development and testing phases (work with the team and end users as appropriate).
  • Work with the project team to assist in other aspects of the project (for a successful implementation from start to end).
  • Follow and adhere to BNP Paribas development standards, the software development lifecycle, vendor application / project standards and guidelines
  • Closely interact with onshore/ offshore stakeholders/ teams on a regular basis
Contributing Responsibilities
  • Contribute towards knowledge sharing initiatives across the team
  • Contribute towards Innovation and Creativity initiatives across the team and the organization.
The strengths and skills that will help you succeed
  • At least 5 years hands-on experience developing/ implementing Actimize AML solution using SAM 8.x / AIS / UDM / ERCM/ ActOne.
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking IT, with a good understanding of the Corporate and Institutional Banking activity and systems. Knowledge of Capital Markets an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing leading solutions in AML space (KYC, OFAC, Transaction Monitoring, Case Management).
  • Good working knowledge and hands on experience on ETL, database (including writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, etc…). Good understanding on concepts and techniques of business intelligence environments and data warehouse.
  • Deep technical knowledge in systems, application frameworks, database optimization, and experience being responsible for the success of software development projects.
  • Ability to present multiple solution options, and drive defect free products.
  • Good working experience in interpreting and fulfilling requirements by developing high performing, scalable and maintainable solutions with multiple technologies and vendor products.
  • Hands-on experience with SDLC methodologies and best practices including Waterfall Process, Agile methodologies, deployment automation, code reviews, and test driven development.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues in a simple concise manner
  • Multi-tasking capabilities and be able to withstand the pressure.
  • Good technical knowledge on :
    • Oracle (SQL, PL/SQL,…), MS-SQL
    • Perl, Unix Scripting , Python Scripting, Java
    • AutoSys
    • DevOps tools (Bitbucket/ Gitlab/ Jenkins/ Docker/ Kubernetes/ ...)
