Each employee is a part of what makes us unique on the market: agile and dedicated.Time Type:RegularJob Description :POSITION SUMMARY:Cogeco Communication, a publicly traded multinational corporation, is seeking a corporate development analyst to join its Montréal team. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Development, this analyst will play an active role in supporting the company’s growth plan. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the key strategic decision-making process, notably as it relates to mergers and acquisitions as well as capital allocation decisions. This individual will also conduct analyses in support of organic growth projects submitted by business entities and produce industry benchmarks.KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Help support potential acquisitions or divestitures.
  • Develop financial models and analyses for valuation purposes (DCF, LBO, comparable companies, previous transactions, etc.).
  • Participate in due diligence processes.
  • Prepare analyses and business plans in support of capital allocation decisions.
  • Carry out analyses to evaluate the return on investment of various organic growth projects submitted by business units.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment recommendations and presentations for submission to senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Attend meetings with senior management to present the results of analyses.
  • Support business units to keep the company’s forecasts and long-term models up to date.
  • Compare the company’s financial and operational results with those of its industry peers.
  • Support the business units with various initiatives seeking to improve their financial and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:ACADEMIC TRAINING
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
  • Wall Street Prep or other equivalent training is an asset.
  • An accounting designation is an asset.
  • The CFA or CBV designation (or in the process of being completed) is an asset.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in corporate finance, investments or other relevant business experience, preferably as part of a corporate development team, investment bank, a transactional advisory team or a private equity firm.
SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
  • Solid analytical skills with the ability to summarize and present information.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Mastery of productivity tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Accountability for his/her work and attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal relationship skills and strong team spirit.
  • Strong spoken and written communication skills in French and English.
  • Telecom experience is an asset.
