Assistant Professor in Veterinary Anatomic PathologyDepartment of Pathology and Microbiology, Faculté de médecine vétérinaireThe Faculté de médecine vétérinaire (FMV) of the Université de Montréal is currently seeking qualified candidatesfor an Assistant Professor position in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology to join the dynamic multidisciplinary team ofthe Department of Pathology and Microbiology. The FMV is located in Saint-Hyacinthe, the agricultural capital ofQuebec with 57 000 inhabitants. The FMV is located 60 km (37 miles) from Montreal, a vibrant city with aninternational airport and excellent flight connections to Europe, the USA and South America. The FMV is alsowithin easy reach of beautiful, historic Quebec City and Ottawa, the capital of Canada. The Centre de diagnostic vétérinaire de l’Université de Montréal is located in a newlyconstructed building with a slide scanner, an immunohistochemistry laboratory, and many associated laboratoriesto offer a complete diagnostic service. Necropsy and biopsy cases are varied and numerous, coming from clinicsthroughout Quebec, including several reference centers.As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculté demédecine vétérinaire:Through your teaching and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your discipline in additionto actively participate in the operation of a renowned institution. As such, you will:Teach students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program;Participate in the teaching and training of graduate students, including students enrolled in the residencyprogram (DÉS) in anatomical pathology leading to certification by the American College of VeterinaryPathologists (ACVP) or the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP);Develop research in a relevant area; interdisciplinary collaboration in research projects is alsoencouraged;Participate in diagnostic activities in animal pathology within the Centre de diagnostic vétérinaire del’Université de Montréal;Participate in outreach activities for the discipline (publications, conferences and others);Contribute to the operations of the institution.To succeed in this role, you’ll need:D.V.M. degree or equivalent;Diplomate of the ACVP or the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP); candidates eligiblefor certification exams from these colleges will also be considered, but priority will be given to diplomates;M.Sc. in the field of pathology or a related field or an equivalent diploma with research experience;Ph.D. in the field of pathology or a related field is considered an asset;Hold or obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine from the Ordre des médecins vétérinaires duQuébec (OMVQ);An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to masteringthe proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy.
