This is why we offer a flexible, hybrid and remote work structure in all our locations.Job DescriptionThe Concept Artist creates photo realistic and high quality concepts including creature design, hard surface and mechanical assets, and illustrations, for both pre and post production.Main responsibilities:

• Create high quality concept art including creature design, hard surface and mechanical assets, and illustrations in collaboration with the department supervisor and other artists within the team;
• Provide in-depth research, reference material, and develop conceptual ideas;
• Create concepts from scratch using reference material and scripts;
• Promote best practices in the concept art techniques to streamline production;
• May participate in the development of tools and techniques for the department;
• Perform quality control on work before it is submitted for review/approval, ensuring all technical and creative standards are met. Reviews work with the Art Director and/or VFX Supervisor and promptly apply notes received;
• Keep Production and the project team informed of the status of work, issues to be resolved, ramifications of problems encountered and recommend potential solutions;
• Ensure deadlines are met, advising the project team promptly if delays could be expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar position, within the VFX industry or a game studio;
• Excellent 2D drawing and painting skills, including traditional illustration skills;
• Knowledge of a 3D package (Maya, Blender, c4d, Keyshot and/or zbrush);
• Must have skills in modeling, lighting and texturing;
• Advanced skills in design and photography;
• Knowledge of the VFX Color Pipeline;
• Excellent knowledge of Photoshop;
• Excellent sense of prioritization and respect of deadlines.
