They will write articles and file stories per corporate standards and policies.We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

  • Cross-Platform Reporter (in the newsroom and in the field)
  • Researcher
Please note these are on-call, casual, part-time opportunities and shifts may include being assigned to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights and weekends.The Researcher position requires:
  • Two (2) years’ journalism experience
  • Very good knowledge of research tools and techniques
  • An up-to-date contact network
  • Comfort with gathering online research
  • Considerable initiative and resourcefulness
The Cross-Platform Reporter position requires:
  • Three (3) years’ journalism experience (an acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered)
In addition to the above-mentioned requirements specific to each position, candidates must meet the following criteria:Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Skills:
  • Extensive general knowledge
  • Keen interest in the economy, business, politics or social media an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of regional, provincial and national affairs
  • Solid command of writing and story research techniques
  • Solid command of the working language (French); very good knowledge of the other official language (English) an asset
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices an asset
  • Good knowledge of IT and social media
  • Interest in and aptitude for learning new tools
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while being self-starting and resourceful
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexible, irregular hours depending on the assignment
  • Valid driver’s licence
