Our successes and accomplishments are driven by embodying and upholding values, which include creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance.Do you think you have the ability and drive to keep up with this exciting, ever-changing industry Whether it be in front of the camera, on air, online or behind the scenes, you would be joining a team that thrives on making connections and telling stories that are important to Canadians.Radio-Canada News & Current Affairs is currently looking for On-Call reporters with a wide range of interests (business/economy, politics, social media) to provide backfill support and ensure ongoing operations in the newsroom.Reporters will be assigned primarily to produce content for all Radio-Canada platforms (TV, radio, digital). They will write articles and file stories per corporate standards and policies.We are seeking candidates for the following positions:

  • Cross-Platform Reporter (in the newsroom and in the field)
  • Researcher
Please note these are on-call, casual, part-time opportunities and shifts may include being assigned to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late nights and weekends.The Researcher position requires:
  • Two (2) years’ journalism experience
  • Very good knowledge of research tools and techniques
  • An up-to-date contact network
  • Comfort with gathering online research
  • Considerable initiative and resourcefulness
The Cross-Platform Reporter position requires:
  • Three (3) years’ journalism experience (an acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered)
In addition to the above-mentioned requirements specific to each position, candidates must meet the following criteria:Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Skills:
  • Extensive general knowledge
  • Keen interest in the economy, business, politics or social media an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of regional, provincial and national affairs
  • Solid command of writing and story research techniques
  • Solid command of the working language (French); very good knowledge of the other official language (English) an asset
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices an asset
  • Good knowledge of IT and social media
  • Interest in and aptitude for learning new tools
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment while being self-starting and resourceful
  • Ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexible, irregular hours depending on the assignment
  • Valid driver’s licence
