Job Description

Internship duration:

  • Fall 2022
  • Expected availability: End of August 2022 – Mid-End of December 2022
Description of tasks: In this transition from prototyping to production, you will be responsible for the design and maintenance of the fall detection machine learning algorithms. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining Azimut Medicals database. In your position, you will work closely with the embedded system engineer.As part of your role, you will:
  • Design and maintain machine learning algorithms.
  • Embedded machine learning algorithms on microcontrollers.
  • Create a database of falls and activities of the daily living acquired on subjects.
  • Communicate with the embedded electrical systems and circuits team.
Specific skills required:
  • Intermediate knowledge of machine learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised)
  • Intermediate knowledge in embedded systems (Arduino)
  • Intermediate knowledge in C or any other equivalent language (Python, MATLAB).
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical circuit design.
  • General knowledge of MS Office
  • Written and oral fluency in French and English
Other requirements:
  • Must be Canadian citizen
  • Must be a student
Job Type: Internship / Co-opContract length: 16 weeksSalary: $18.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Montréal, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
  • Bachelors Degree (preferred)
Experience:
  • Machine learning: 1 year (preferred)
