Job Description

Internship duration:

  • Fall 2022
  • Expected availability: End of August 2022 – Mid-End of December 2022
Description of tasks: In this transition from prototyping to production, you will be responsible for the prototyping and design of the embedded electrical circuits, including the Arduino systems and platform. In particular, you will be asked to optimize the belt fall detection algorithm to increase the autonomy of the device, integrate different deployment mechanisms, characterize the airbags and produce PCBs. Your role will be mainly to integrate and optimize the various electrical circuits designed during prototyping. In addition, you will be the link between the technical team and our electrical circuit production line.As part of your role, you will:
  • Design and draw printed electrical circuits (PCB).
  • Select the optimal components for the electrical system of the seat belt.
  • Communicate with the airbag deployment technical team, the industrial design team, and the artificial intelligence team.
  • Be the link between the entire technical team and our electrical circuit production line.
Specific skills required:
  • Intermediate knowledge of embedded systems (Arduino)
  • Intermediate knowledge of C language or any other equivalent language (Python, MATLAB).
  • Intermediate knowledge in computer-aided design (Ex: CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, FUSION 360, etc.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of electrical circuit design or electrical schematic.
  • Intermediate knowledge of printed electrical circuits (KICAD or other)
  • General knowledge of MS Office
  • Written and oral fluency in French and English

  • Must be a Canadian citizen
  • Must be a student
Job Type: Internship / Co-opContract length: 16 weeksSalary: $18.00 per hourSchedule:
  • 8 hour shift
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Montréal, QC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • PCB: 1 year (preferred)
  • CAD: 1 year (preferred)
