Job Description

Novipro is looking for a Fixed Income Application Support and Development. This is a 12 month renewable mandate for one of our well-known clients in the banking industry. This mandate is in hybrid mode, a minimum of 2 days in the office in downtown Montreal. It has positioned itself as a frontrunner in supporting the energy transition and carbon net zero financing.About the teamThe Fixed Income, Forex and Credit department is in charge of electronic trading, trade capture, pricing, risk and market access technologies. The main partners and clients are Traders, sales and e-business. This team is based on the trading floor and manages applications deployed in Paris, London, New York and Hong-Kong.About the jobWhat are you applying forThis is a central and dynamic position as you will provide technical and functional support for the applications that are used by our traders based in New York. In this role, you will gain in-depth exposure to both the business and technology aspects of equity derivatives business.The position involves working closely with traders, sales, business analysts and developers to deliver and support solutions to the trading and sales desk in a DevOps model environment.What will be your day-to-day

  • Technical support and development
  • You will handle software releases, configuration and support of all production system components and infrastructure.
  • You will support, develop and maintain software applications, build systems, own related processes and deliver frequent releases
  • Develop applications to automate manual operational tasks as well as build custom real-time monitoring tools and reports.
  • Crisis Management and Incident Management
  • You will ensure timely communication to end-user and senior management
  • You will communicate with users regarding application outages and upcoming events like release, project, etc.
  • You will manage the Client Relationship with the end user community.
  • Documentation
  • You will provide functional and technical expertise to produce and promote maintainable and quality solutions, which includes documenting system requirements and documentation of support run book.
  • Improve existing support processes by enhancing automation, monitoring and documentation
  • Collaboration
  • You will liaise with development/support teams in Bangalore, New York, Montreal, Paris and London.
  • You will partner with development teams (NY/Paris) on analysis and development as a part of the DevOps model
  • You will partner with development teams (NY/Paris) on release management.
  • You will partner with the Global support teams (Paris/Asia) to ensure quality support to our end users.
  • You will bring a passion to stay on top of DevOps trends, experiment with and learn new CD technologies.

PROFILE REQUIREDWhat does it take to get the job
  • Competencies
  • 2-3 years of experience in a developer / support role
  • Clear and efficient communication with various audiences at appropriate levels
  • Quickly learns new systems/products.
  • Team-oriented, client-focused and open to different ideas/viewpoints.
  • Technical skills:
  • Good programming background in scripting language (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of front-end development (JS, Angular, React)
  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge on Client/Server application
  • Education:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Bonus skills:
  • Bilingualism (French/English)
  • Good programming working knowledge in Object-Oriented Programming language (ideally Python)
  • Experience in financial products (Fixed Income) / financial industry business processes / trading system
  • Knowledge of derivative product lifecycle workflow
  • Middleware experience (Tibco, RMDS, Ultra Messaging)
  • Experience using standard DevOps tools (Jenkins, Jira, Git, TeamCity)
