You are recognized for your project management skills in large industrial projects and your experience covers the engineering, procurement and construction phases of projects. You know how to recognize the major issues and are driven by a sense of urgency that you know how to convey at the appropriate time. Your accountability in your assignments allows you to manage large portions of your projects and lead an engineering team to success. Plus, youre looking to make an impact in your job, your work environment, and on the world too, by working for a company that takes innovation to the next level.YOUR CONTRIBUTIONIn close collaboration with Enerkems Business Development team and the Client project team, the latter will have to coordinate all the activities of the phase making it possible to define the project basis, set up the control, assess costs and plan subsequent phases. This is an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team while enriching your career and working on Enerkems unique disruptive technology.Your role and responsibilities will be:

  • Defines the project scope, deliverables, costs and schedule for each phase of a project and collaborates with the Business Development team in the preparation of bids
  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary project activities, (project control, engineering, finance, commercial and legal agreements, estimation, risk) necessary to reach and pass each milestone (gate) of the project
  • Acts throughout the project as the main point of contact with stakeholders and communicates effectively on the status of the project
  • Delivers the project according to the expectations of the client and Enerkem management (scope, budget, schedule)
  • Evaluate and control changes that impact the project scope, budget or schedule of the project and establish action plans to remedy deviations
  • Manage project team interfaces by collaborating with different Enerkem departments and strategic engineering suppliers.
  • Ensures the integration and monitoring of the schedule and performance measurement in the overall project reports
  • Ensures that all necessary resources are in place and performing at the required level
  • Collaborates in the implementation and issuance of engineering contracts and external studies
  • Evaluates and manages the performance of the engineering team against the plan and communicates risks and opportunities to management
  • Develops and maintains project hour estimates
  • Is actively involved in setting up the project estimate (CAPEX)
  • Collaborates in the establishment of technology license agreements with potential investors in the project
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in engineering (Mechanical, chemical engineering) or equivalent
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering management for major industrial projects
  • Experience in petrochemical and biofuel projects or any other related industry required.
  • Experience in personnel management, an asset
  • Experience in project management, an asset
  • Masters degree or certification in project management (PMP, etc.), an asset.
