Red Lake is known for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and incredible Canadian fishing in the many freshwater lakes in the area. The Red Lake district is located 180 kilometers north of Dryden about 100 kilometers from the Manitoba border in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. It spans 42,000 hectares and has produced over 29 million ounces of gold since 1949. Our Red Lake Operation includes the Red Lake, Campbell and Cochenour underground mining and processing complexes . We believe that every injury is preventable, and we are committed to providing a healthy and safe workplace and empowering our people to stop any unsafe behaviour, enabling everyone to work together towards an injury free workplace.About the roleAs a member of the Senior Management team, reporting to the General Manager, you will be directly responsible and accountable the overall management of people, safety, partnerships, and production associated with the Mine Department. You will direct tactical and strategic mining plans ensuring that departmental performance is executed in a safe and efficient manner.You will ensure the most efficient use of manpower and materials by monitoring practices to attain maximum efficiency, ensuring safety and cost effectiveness, and achieving overall corporate objectives of the operation at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.In this role, you will cultivate strong relationships through effective communication and consultation, while positively influencing the mining functions. With your expertise in underground mining, you will ensure goals and objectives are set and ensure safe production targets are met.You will successfully lead the team in:Ensuring a safe system of work to protect the health and safety of people and the environment in accordance with statutory and Evolution requirementsEnsuring an engaged culture, inclusive and diverse culture, where everyone is motivated to their full potentialManaging performance targets and plans aligned to the business targetsInvestigate and implement improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of the operationImproving mine automation and innovationAbout youYou will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic self- starter with a strong focus on safety, inclusion, diversity, productivity and maximization of mining processes. Your solid understanding of underground mining processes will be supported by relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in delivering outstanding results. Previous experience in leading and mentoring mult-disciplinary diverse teams through effective communication coupled with strong operational discipline is required for the success of this role.A performance and achievement orientated professional, your technical strengths with significant hardrock mining experience with large complex organisations will be complemented by excellent engagement and communication skills, high energy levels, and an action-oriented attitude tempered by simplicity.
