November 22, 2022ACADEMIC PROGRAM ASSISTANT (BAND LEVEL 4)Discipline of Emergency MedicineFaculty of Medicine(Full-time, 3 year contractual position)This competition may be used to fill identical positions in this unit within three (3) months of the closing dateAll qualified employees are welcome to apply, however preference is given to CUPE membersDUTIESReporting to the Discipline Chair, the successful applicant will work closely with the Clerkship Director for undergraduate programs, and PGY Faculty Lead of Emergency Medicine, assisting in the daily operations of the Discipline’s education programs. Duties will include scheduling and evaluation processes; entering final evaluations into One45; arranging orientation sessions; approving and coordinating leave and elective requests; answering regular enquiries from the students that rotate through the ER core rotation, and all Residents doing electives in the Emergency Department; coordinating resident schedules with the Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine enhanced skills program; communicating with APAs in other disciplines to facilitate resident scheduling; coordinating 2-week electives (from MUN and out of province students); supporting the Clerkship Committee in preparing agendas and meeting minutes; liaising with various offices in the Faculty of Medicine, and Regional Health Boards; attending related academic meetings; and performing other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONSExperience (1-3 years) in academic program activities in a university environment; graduation from a two-year Office Administration diploma program, or a related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as experience in preparing meeting minutes are required.
