November 15, 2022RESEARCH PROJECT MANAGER (Research Assistant III)(Faculty of Nursing)(1 year contractual position; with possibility of extension)This position is funded through an External GrantThe Faculty of Nursing, Memorial University is leading part of a national interdisciplinary grant to develop family practice nursing education in Canada that is based on the College of Family Physicians (CFPC) Patient Medical Home model (https://patientsmedicalhome.ca/) and the Canadian Family Practice Nurses Association (CFPNA) Competencies for Registered Nurses in Primary Care (https://www.cfpna.ca/copy-of-resources-1). This national project will involve considerable collaboration across many project partners, provinces, institutions, and disciplines.DutiesThe successful applicant will report to the Associate Professor, Faculty of Nursing and the Executive Team of the federal grant, and will be required to perform senior level professional and technical work in support of primary care nursing education/research. The project involves regular interaction with the Executive Team, physician leaders/partners, nurse researchers/educators, Directors and leaders of other academic institutions/professional organizations, students/trainees, and other stakeholders across Canada. The successful applicant will be required to manage and coordinate several different aspects of the national project with considerable independence and minimal direct oversight. The position also facilitates internal and external project related communication and works with the various committees to ensure required processes are developed, implemented, and adhered to. This includes obtaining agreements between and within institutions for ethics, fund transfer agreements, material and data transfers, and collaborations in addition to any others that may arise.Specific duties include leading environmental scans, literature reviews, research method design and qualitative data collection (e.g. interviews, focus groups), project evaluation, analyzing/interpreting data, writing manuscripts, proposals, reports, and conference abstracts, working with team members to generate project ideas, providing direct supervision and guidance to research project staff, attending and presenting a meetings/forums/conferences (as needed), liaising with other team members to coordinate meetings, create and maintain records, and generate/disseminate progress, and performing other related duties as required.Duties can be performed remotely; on-site office space available if preferred.QualificationsExperience (4-6 years) in project management and completion of a PhD in a health-related field is preferred. A nursing background, with experience and advanced knowledge of primary care is required. Knowledge of research methodology and techniques for data analysis and interpretation is also required. Organizational, project management, strategic planning, team leadership, problem-solving and effective communication skills (written and verbal) must be demonstrated.
