Build the future.Are you looking for a new opportunity where you will play a critical role in the production of food grade ingredients that contribute to improving people’s livesOur facility in Mulgrave, NS is the world leader in omega3 manufacturing. It is a growing facility in which a variety of products for pharma, food, and the dietary supplements industry are produced, starting from crude fish oil as a raw material. Our safety culture is exemplary with an incident frequency index 8 times lower than the Provincial average in 2021.Like DSM, the site takes its environmental impact very seriously. All of our heat is generated from 100% renewable fuel sources. In addition, all of the byproducts are valorized locally (composting, biogas production) and excess biofuel is sold as a renewable fuel source. Are you up for the challengeDo you enjoy operating and controlling the actions of equipment, machinery, tools and/or materials Would you succeed in a team environment involving semi-routine standardized workYou’ll be responsible to:

  • Work as part of a team to operate equipment and processes in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), producing marine lipid blends to customer specifications
  • Maintain accurate documentation to record process conditions and actions, reporting any deviations of non-conformances observed
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment when necessary to ensure continuous operation of equipment
  • Take and analyze samples; decide on operational action to be taken
  • Work to the highest safety, quality and compliance standards set out by DNP
  • Champion in Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) culture, promoting positive safety behaviors and initiatives.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Good mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting capabilities and the ability to effectively communicate with team members
  • Strong literacy, numeracy and document use skills
  • One year experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset.
The Work Environment:
  • The role requires moderate physical effort in medium to heavy work; a combination of climbing stairs, stooping, kneeling, crouching are standard
  • Lifting and carrying 10-25kgs is typical; pushing and/or pulling of objects using pallet jacks (rolling wt. of 800kgs)
  • Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents or toxic agents. PPE is provided & required.
  • Shift work is required on a rotating 3 on, 3 off 12 hour day / night schedule.
